TEMPLE 40 Challenge – Spiritual, Mental, and Physical Challenge for 40 Days

Spiritual/Mental Challenge

  • GPS – Gratitude/Pray/Scripture
    • Journal gratitude
    • Pray
    • Scripture – Read Proverbs and Gospels
      • First 31 days – 1 Proverb and 2 chapters of the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
      • Last 9 days – 3 chapters of the Gospels
      • Reading plan
  • Physical Challenge
    • Walk minimum of 4 miles outside 6 days a week (Simulating how the early disciples walked daily from town to town).
      • If physically able, ruck (walk with weights – I use goruck.com). The disciples likely carried things with them walking.
      • Practice walking at least 2 of the 4 miles without music, podcast, or audiobooks. Much of the time the disciples were walking town to town, they were spending time with Jesus…do the same praying or allowing Him to speak to you.
    • Food – Eat a kosher diet. No processed foods. Primarily eat whole grains, fruits, nuts, vegetables, red meats, chicken, lamb, or fish.
      • Worth mentioning – What if a special holiday or birthday is inside the 40 days? Jesus always maintained a kosher diet…and at the same time, relationships were more important to him I believe than whether he put a sugary treat in his mouth. Celebrate!
