Have you ever felt like you were thrown to the wind by a leader? Or maybe on the flip side, you felt like every second of your day was micro managed, you couldn’t even breathe correctly. Why do so many leaders not bring out the best in their employees or teams? Who leads better and why? Join us as we discuss the crucial positive and negative effects either extreme style of leadership produces.
In this episode, Jonathan brings why both micro managers and soft leaders can produce negativity in their roles and for their teams. Although the workplace has its own issues, so can other types of administrative teams where the leader can bring productivity to a halt when weaknesses in leading aren’t transformed.
Outside of the workplace, weak leadership in either extreme can exist in volunteer groups, educational groups, churches, etc. Trish adds that many times, most people who are at the top aren’t intentionally trying to sabotage the environment with their poor decision making. Many times, they simply don’t know the damage they’re creating.
So, which style is better? We created a poll before the podcast recording and had some interesting results which we share and discuss the surprises.
